The new Swain County Law Enforcement Center is located on Hughes Branch across from the Ingles grocery store. The new jail houses up to 109 inmates. Both the Sheriff’s Office and Jail are housed in this building.
Anyone interested in a drug presentation for your church or organization can call the Sheriff’s office to schedule a time.
The Bryson City Police Department handles all calls inside the city limits. They can be reached through 911 dispatch or 828-488-3050. The Chief of Police is Charley Robinson.
The NC State Highway Patrol is responsible for traffic and vehicle accidents. Their phone is 828-488-2184 or 800-445-1772. The First Sergeant is Chris Wood.
Pistol purchase and concealed weapons permits are handled online.

Paid Ticket Information:
Q: If you paid the ticket after the scheduled hearing date, will your case will be defaulted?
Answer: For most cases, you must file a motion to set-aside the default; for Streets & Sanitation tickets only, if you paid before the hearing date, you may call the telephone number on the ticket for further assistance.
